Open Jams

     Our Des Moines Bluegrass Jams will be held the first and third sunday of every month at 7:00 pm. Mars Cafe has opened their doors to us, and I've even heard mention of an extended happy hour. Come on down and pic some tunes with us. Our jams will always be listed on our front page.

     We would like to keep it bluegrass and old-time based as much as possible, so come prepared with a few singing standards or fiddle tunes, or just come and follow along. Either way, come on out! 

For the non-players, Listeners are always welcome as well.

     The Fiddlers Association of Iowa has their jams on the first tuesday of every month at the Southgate Masonic Lodge. They start every meeting with a open jam, then they let everyone pick a few songs and perform with others back. It is mainly a jam featuring older fiddle tunes. Always a fun time, and always some real good older players.
